Peanut Butter Blossoms

Yummy Christmas treats.

I grew up on these at Christmas time as I am sure you did as well.  Who can resist peanut butter and chocolate, right?  I love this combo and I love that these are so easy to make as well.  ENJOY!

White chocolate chip molasses cookies

I love Sallys Baking Addiction and her seasonal cookie palooza.  Every day she posts new cookies and I come home ready to start baking! I would love to try them all.

Since I can’t do that, I choose my favorites and try to at least make a few each holiday season.  She had these cookies on her blog a few years ago and I tried them for a cookie exchange.  I absolutely fell in love with these and so did everyone who  tried them.

I am attaching her link to the recipe for you to try yourself.  I also have it listed under cookies on this blog.   I think you will enjoy these as much as I do.  And by the way…my house smells amazing today!

M&M Cookies

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup + 2 tsp of light brown sugar
3/4 cup + 2 tsp of sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup shortening (or butter flavor shortening) I use Crisco.
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup M&Ms

Mix together the dry ingredients in a bowl

Beat the shortening, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla together in mixer. Add the eggs, then slowly pour in the dry ingredients.

Stir in the M&Ms by hand and drop on cookie sheet.  I add extra M&Ms on top!

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes (depending on your oven) or until just golden brown. Cool then place on wire rack.

All things M&Ms

This has been the week of M&Ms for me.  I have made M&M cookies, M&M chocolate covered peanut clusters and tried M&M Saltine Toffee for the first time.  Since I purchased a huge bag of pastel colored M&Ms, I tried to make sure and use them all by Easter!

I used these wonderful little chocolates in anything I could think of and also ate a few handfuls along the way!

IMG_2958[1]

I did not leave the saltines and toffee in the oven quite long enough.  This was still very tasty, but next time I will leave in for the full 8 minutes as the recipe calls for!  I was not patient enough.  What can I say, I was so hungry!

You can find the recipe here or in the menu bar above! Thanks Two Peas and Their Pod for the wonderful recipe! http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/easter-saltine-toffee

Enjoy!!!

Irish Soda Bread

On St. Patrick’s Day, wearing something green is usually as far as I go to celebrate this special day.

I took it one step further this year and made Irish Soda Bread.  This was so easy and delicious served warm…with butter of course!  Find Irish Soda Bread  recipe here.

I also wanted to make something with the color green.  I made green mint/chocolate chip cookies.  If you like mint, then you will love these.  Same as above…delicious served warm! IMG_2760[1]

Let’s think of other things that start with the letter C
Oh who cares about other things…C is for cookie, that’s good enough for me!

I wanted to make something sweet for my girls at work on Friday.  Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies, so that was easy and I always have all the ingredients for these cookies in my kitchen. IMG_2503[1]

When I find I also have the Ghirardelli white chocolate  chips and dark molasses, it only makes sense to make these wonderful cookies as well!  They were such a big hit last time I made them.
