White chocolate chip molasses cookies

I love Sallys Baking Addiction and her seasonal cookie palooza.  Every day she posts new cookies and I come home ready to start baking! I would love to try them all.

Since I can’t do that, I choose my favorites and try to at least make a few each holiday season.  She had these cookies on her blog a few years ago and I tried them for a cookie exchange.  I absolutely fell in love with these and so did everyone who  tried them.

I am attaching her link to the recipe for you to try yourself.  I also have it listed under cookies on this blog.   I think you will enjoy these as much as I do.  And by the way…my house smells amazing today!

Easy as Pie.

I smile as I look at this Cherry Pie.  We made this pie for Father’s Day…we were so ready to get it in the oven that our rows of crust did not turn out quite like we had planned. But it was still a sweet and delicious treat and was worth every calorie.

I thought of our family and how things don’t always turn out perfect.  Sometimes we don’t look like a family that has it all together but in the end there is laughter, love and a bond that we wouldn’t trade for anything!  Our family is worth every calorie!! 🙂

IMG_4414[1]IMG_4413[1]IMG_4430[1]IMG_4438[1]Thank you Sally’s Baking Addition for this recipe!  I love all your pies and cookies!!!  They always turn out so tasty!

Just a “sweet” extra for you, I am learning the more we do for ourselves, the more we can offer our family. I am going through an amazing book and study with friends called  Emotionally Spiritually Healthy. Here is what the book looks  like and the day to day reading.  If you are looking for something to know yourself better and grow, give this book a try.  I think you will really enjoy it and learn a little along the way!

WHOPPERS Robin Eggs/Chocolate Chip

WHOPPERS Mini ROBIN EGGS/Chocolate Chip Cookies.  🙂

IMG_2910[1]

I love Robin Eggs!  I always purchase a bag around Easter time and they are usually gone in a day.  I had this bag hidden very well until I was ready to bake!

I used Sally’s recipe from her cookbook Sally’s Candy Addiction: Tasty Truffles, Fudges & Treats for Your Sweet-Tooth Fix.  I simply exchanged the regular size WHOPPERS for the MINI ROBIN EGGS.  These still have the same wonderful flavor…with a touch of pastel…perfect for Spring.

I needed to chill the dough for a couple of hours, so  left to run a few errands.   When I came home I discovered  some of the cookie dough was missing.  Thankfully, I still had enough left to make a couple dozen!  Raw cookie dough does not last long around my house!  These cookies are easy to make, have a wonderful texture and don’t last long!  You can find the recipe on my home page, or here Whopper Chocolate Chip Cookies

Happy Spring!

You can have your cake and eat it too!

I love making lemon cakes and cookies in the summer, but when I saw a recipe for Lemon Blueberry cake today, I just had to make it!  It seems I am baking through Sally’s Baking Addiction Blog/Cookbook lately. I love all the details she gives not only in her actual recipe but in her photos as well.  Even an amateur like me can follow along!  If I can do it, you can do it!

What starts with the letter C?

Cookie starts with the letter C
Let’s think of other things that start with the letter C
Oh who cares about other things…C is for cookie, that’s good enough for me!

I wanted to make something sweet for my girls at work on Friday.  Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies, so that was easy and I always have all the ingredients for these cookies in my kitchen. IMG_2503[1]

When I find I also have the Ghirardelli white chocolate  chips and dark molasses, it only makes sense to make these wonderful cookies as well!  They were such a big hit last time I made them.

I discovered these from Sally’s Baking Blog.  I love her blog and her cookbooks!  I use my cookbooks all the time and they always seem to find a way into the background of my pictures of cookies and cupcakes!

You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello

…goodbye to cupcakes anyway, and hello healthy cookbooks!
Well, not until I make cupcakes for work first!

Okay…I am good on sweets now.  At least until February, when of course I have to bake plate after plate of Valentine treats!  But for now my family and I are all making healthy choices!

I pulled out The Skinnytaste Cookbook again.  I used this many times in 2015 but put away as October came around and I was in the baking/sweets/candy mode.

January always brings about a desire to make changes for the better.  So instead of eating at my favorite Mexican restaurant (for the millionth time in last 2 months) I stayed home and made the Buttermilk Oven “Fried” Chicken.  I made this a few times last year and my family really liked it.  This time I followed the recipe in full (I usually take short cuts) and the chicken was so moist and was just enough with my sweet potato. Give this a try if you want great flavor, fewer calories, and don’t want to feel as if you are giving up on taste.
