Cupcakes taste better in NYC!

These little cupcakes went all over New York with me and my sisters.  I carried them in my purse, in a souvenir bag, asked my sister to hold and even dropped some a few times, all for the sake of an iconic photo op.

These are just a few of my favorite cupcakes and bakeries!

When in New York, give one a try.

Just a walk in the park…

I could spend every day in this wonderful place called Central Park.  img_62981

If I can ever get up the courage, I would like to spend one or two days alone in New York.  I would love to go the park each day and read, eat a cupcake, sit and listen to that young girl playing her cello or the old man playing his guitar to “Imagine” and just enjoy my surroundings.

This year I had to wait for my sisters for a few hours, so I did at least get to walk around, img_61611find a great bench and read for a little while alone.  Not to adventurous, but one step at a time!  Not a bad view at all! img_61581

I did find a few cupcakes along the way each day.  I love trying new bakeries as well as returning to my tried and true favorites!

I’m in a New York State of Mind

I'm in a New York State of Mind

A look back:  2014 Adventures

A week in New York City in the spring is not a bad way to celebrate 25 years of marriage!  And to be able to celebrate with my amazing husband, who is a man of God, a father of three wonderful daughters, and a faithful friend is not too shabby either!

I was inspired in New York by the city, the people and the wonderful food.  I especially loved trying out a different cupcake every day to determine which shop truly had the best! I told  my husband when I get home, I am going to work on my cupcake skills with my girls and also make my backyard look as beautiful and peaceful as Central Park. I was determined and passionate!

Needless to say, my backyard still looks the same and although I did try a new cupcake recipe from my Magnolia Bakery cookbook, it has been a few lonely months for my cupcake pan!

Here are a few of the places I tried in search of the perfect cupcake! Some I tried a couple of times, just to be sure which one was my favorite—Magnolia Bakery; Sweet Revenge; Sprinkles; Sweet Corner Bake Shop and of course I tried any cupcake that I passed as we were exploring the city.

My vote on the best cupcake in New York City is from SWEET REVENGE in the West Village at 62 Carmine St!  And maybe this spring I can work on my backyard a little as well!!!
