  1. Congrats on your first year! Looks like you’ve had a great year, and a wonderful holiday. I started my blog about a year and a half ago and sometimes I don’t post as much as I’d like but it’s fun because it gets me to write about my stories, share pics and a great way for family and friends to read about your adventures! I really enjoy it and I’ve decided to now start adding my recipes and food-related things because I’m a huge baking fanatic and spend most of my time in the kitchen. I could bake (or talk about food) 24-7, when I’m not travelling that is. I find as I’ve gotten older, I’m travelling a bit less than I was in my 20s and 30s–but I still do the occasional road trip (even a short one) whenever I can sneak away. I was originally thinking of starting a food blog too, but I don’t want two blogs and I follow quite a few blogs (like yours) who combine things like food and travel, so I figured it’s the way to go. I’m actually working on my first recipe post…hurray!
I love all your Christmas treats, those pretzel sticks are fabulous! I’ve also never been to Magnolia bakery, but I REALLY want to get there.

    • I will be looking for your first recipe post! I think it is great for you to combine both food and travel. I love taking pics of food at wonderful places I have visited or even after tasting a great meal here in Austin! But my favorite thing to do is bake and give to friends and family. I do love making chocolate covered pretzels, which I make for any occasion and all my friends…and I do love cupcakes. Magnolia Bakery is very good I might add! But my actual favorite cupcake place in NY is Sweet Revenge. I have not found a cupcake I like better yet! But I will keep trying. Thanks for commenting and I look forward to many more posts on your blog!!!

      • Thanks Kristy! Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply to your comment, it’s been insanely busy on my end…even for January (surprisingly!). Things are slowing a bit now, thankfully so I’m finally starting to catch up on my comments and reading the blogs that I enjoy following like yours. And I’m posting a bit more finally, too. Thanks for your sweet words, I’ve done a couple of food posts and love it. I love baking and sharing with friends and family too, plus I use them as my guinea pigs which they seem to enjoy (haha). I might be going to NY city in the summer or fall, so if I go I’m going to check out Magnolia and Sweet Revenge. I suspect it won’t be too difficult for me to cupcakery-hop at all (for research purposes only!) haha. Thanks so much for the suggestion. Love your blog, keep up the great work!
